They say you shouldn't trust someone whose eyes are too close together. Well, that makes me a pretty safe bet. Come to Uncle Worathep ... do you want to see some puppies?
Anyway, a BIG THANKS for logging in to worathep.com. You've
come this far, so it would be remiss of me not to introduce myself. But being the shy type, allow me to offer a more objective
opinion. Here's the chapter about me from this year's "Thailand's Dodgiest Geezers" almanac.
"Worathep
na Banglampu is the illigitimate adopted son of a guesthouse cook and a local
tuk tuk driver. Re-born on Bangkok's infamous backpacker ghetto Khaosan Road more than 16
year's ago, the younger Worathep always felt different to the other
kids. While they would be bussing off to exotic beach locations or on adventurous mountain treks, Worathep spent his formative years stuck in the middle of Khaosan Road peeling garlic
and waiting tables (usually for scraps) at his step-mother's guesthouse. Anyway, times
change, and so has Worathep. The guesthouse is now a 24/7 Internet cafe.
In between rebooting faulty computers, Worathep has pulled on
everything he ever learnt at the local temple school to put together a website."
Objective enough?
TO BE NUMBER 1
What a shocker! While quietly googling myself this evening (well come on, who
hasn't?) I shrieked like a ladyboy on laughing gas when the results page for 'Worathep' listed this humble little site as number 1. Okay, for the experienced surfer this may not come as such a surprise; it's hardly the most searched word in cyberspace: It's not 'sex' or
'acid reflux' after all. Still, for a fledgling domain it's quite an
achievement - 1st out of 4,270 pages, I'll have you know. I even
knocked some of the probably more bona-fide Woratheps down the listings (ขอโทษนะครับเพื่อน).
So, in accepting this prestigious accolade I would like to thank my manager, my agent,
my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my ISP, my web design
software company, the telephone company, my computer repair guy, the paperboy, the Yakul lady, the woman at
the corner shop, the cat, the dog, the goldfish ... truly amazing
considering I only average two visitors a day - I thank you both.
